For many people, contact lenses provide greater convenience and a more satisfying and active lifestyle than eyeglasses. If you are a new contact lens wearer, here is what you can expect for a typical contact lens exam and fitting at Advance Eyecare:
First, A Comprehensive Eye Exam
Before you can wear or purchase contact lenses, we need to ensure that we examine your eyes for your correct prescription and overall eye health. Our eye doctors want to make sure that your eyes are fit for comfortable contact lens wear.
If your prescription is up-to-date and your eye health is in the clear, next comes your contact lens consultation and fitting.
What to Expect at a Contact Lens Fitting
When you come in for a contact lens fitting our technicians will measure the surface of the eye (cornea) for any irregularities, and the doctors will use these measurements with your current prescription to recommend the best contact lens material to fit your visual lifestyle and budget.
Contact Lens Measurements + Trial Lenses
Typically our eye doctors will give you some trial contact lenses to wear to ensure you are seeing well and have the best comfort. We typically have our patients return to discuss any challenges, but we know with busy lifestyles most of the ordering of the final contact lens prescription can be done over the phone.
We can have a year supply sent to you or you can pick them up at our Ballantyne office. Advance Eyecare has a Contact Lens Guarantee that they will exhaust all options the market has to offer, and if there is still a problem, you will get a full refund on the Contact Lens Fitting that can be applied to purchasing eyewear.
